Many people today do not know what sixteen adornments are and you have explained them with paintings/fotos. Allow me to disagree where you say this word is from shri. It is a Sanskrit word from shringa (शृंगम् = Kaama, passion), the adornment that increases Kaama is श्रृंगार.
