Items on display from its Egyptian collection in the Neue Museum on Museum Island

The jewel in the crown of course is the iconic bust of Nefrititi . It has pride of place in a room all to herself. From there across the gallery she looks on a statue of Apollo .
I was mesmerised by its beauty and poise. Unfortunately or fortunately since it probably helps in preservation we were not allowed to take photographs of it.
I stood there for so long in front of it that a guard stationed himself nearby. he thought at best I would try to photograph it and at worst pinch it!!!! Not a bad idea though..
