To the west of the hauz in the Jama Masjid, Delhi is a small stone enclosure built because of a dream seen by Muhammad Tahsin Khan Mahali Khwaja Sara. As per legend he saw the Prophet, peace be upon him, sitting there. The following verses are inscribed on it:
The Kausar [tank] of Muhammad, the Messenger of God, in the year н 1180 [се 1766-67).
The Prophet was seen here by the saints and the people of God!
This stone should be a place of worship.
The year of its building, Hatif declared with joy and congratulations.
The enclosure of the seat of the Messenger of God. The builder of this place of prayer, the writer of these blessed (words].
Muhammad Tahsin Khan Mahali Badshahi, the year 1180. [ce 1766-67]
This is now enclosed in a cage so difficult to read.
