A very interesting building is called the Tea Room. It is behind The Shah Burj and in the area where some Princes/ salatin had their havelis and the gardens were situated. From outside it looks like a colonial bungalow.</p>

Chandrasekhar Tampi tells me that cafe functioned in thses tea rooms.<br />
That&#8217;s fascinating and actually perfect place for it.<br />
It&#8217;s normally kept locked but I got permission to go inside while researching for my book on Shahjahanabad. ( old Delhi) .<br />
To my surprise inside was a double stories hall with side rooms, the quintessential Shah jahani cusped arches and what is definitely a later addition a fireplace!<br />
It was dark except for some evening sun coming in from the windows so please excuse the quality of the photos.<br />
