Hazrat Syed Burhanuddin Qutub-ul-Alam, was the grandson of the celebrated Makhdoom Jahaniyan Jahangasht. He came to court of Ahmad Shah I, died there in 1452. He founded the Bukhariya sect.

More on https://wp.me/pc9Dlr-34y

The present shrine along with another smaller one for one of the saints son was built by the Gujarat Sultan Mahmud Begada.

As I was walking around the main dargah I saw a host of people going towards some building at the back.

I followed them inside to a small room.

They were all taking turns lifting a pretty heavy object, looked to be stone to me.

I asked them about it.

The man in charge told me the story of that object:

It is said once Qutb e Alam was bathing when his feet hit an object. He was asked what it was.

He is said to have replied he didn’t know whether it was wood, stone, iron, gravel, and a fifth thing which I didn’t quite understand.

Anyway, by the saints karamat ( miracle) the object became all those things, signifying various characteristics of the saint.

The patthar is unique in that it was comprised of four materials: gravel, metal, wood, and stone, each material symbolizing a different aspect of strength of the saint.

So today everyone goes to that room and as per belief if anyone can lift the object in one go and make a wish, that wish is fulfilled. I saw a couple of people lift it, a few fail.

By now I was totally engrossed in this, so if course I also went there to have a go.

I forgot my spondylitis and lower back pain issues in that moment and saying Ya Ali Madad, put my hands under it and somehow ( don’t ask me how) I managed to lift it and hold it for a few seconds before putting it back.

The ladies met there said, once their wish us fulfilled they woukd offer a sehra made of flowers on it

As we came near the station we saw two sets of minarets peeping out on either end of the station. Since the second one was easier to access we went there hoping this was it!

The Einta Minarets are the tallest at about 100 feet and though it isn’t the jhoolta minor which is on the other side of the station this one is worth visiting.
