Shaikh Lotfullah mosque, Isfahan

‘Sacred Geometry’
Shaikh Lotfullah Mosque is one of the architectural masterpieces of Iranian architecture that was built during the Safavid Empire, standing on the eastern side of Naqsh-i Jahan Square, Esfahan.
It is called the prettiest Mosque in the world.

Haft-rangi tiles (Persian: هفت‌رنگی, lit. “seven-coloured”, “polychrome mosaics”) decorate the upper parts of the structure.

I prayed namaz there along with other women. A screen of carpets partitioned a part of it for women

The architect Mohammad-Reza Isfahani, solved the problem of the difference between the direction of qibla and gateway of the building by devising an L-shaped connecting vestibule between the entrance and the enclosure.‬
‪The dome is not directly behind the entrance.
