In Murshidabad as I passed by Namakharam ki deorhi I was consumed with curiosity and wanted to go and see the remains of Mir Jafar’s Haveli.
I found a plaque saying it’s Nawab Ali Jafar ‘s imambara and went in as the door was open.
Fortunately for me a family member was there who had brought some guests ND he opened the imambara. I was in for a beautiful surprise.
Apparently one of the nawabs of Murshidabad had gifted a silver zarih on the rauza of Imam Hussain in Karbala in the 18th century and he was allowed to take the old iron zarih to India.
It’s rarely opened outside Muharram so I was doubly lucky to do ziarat.

The shape of the zarih is an uneven cross as I’d seen the now golden zarih ( offered by the Syedna from Bombay) – this was to accommodate Hazrat Ali Akbar who is also buried in it with his father. Hazrat Ali Asghar is buried on his chest. 
That shape and it’s apparent antique state makes me believe it’s authentic.
