Samode Palace near Jaipur

Samode is a thikana of the Nathawat clan of the Kachwaha Rajputs of Rajasthan with the head holding the title of Maha Rawal’ or ‘Maha Saheb’ of the Amber and Jaipur principality.
Rawal Raja RAGHVENDRA SINGH, is the present Rawal Saheb of Samode
Initially built in the 16th c the Samode Palace was converted from a fort to a beautiful & ornately painted palace in early 19th century, under the nobleman Rawal Berisal.
I first saw this in the movie The Far Pavillions which was shot here and later read about it while translating Dastan e Ghadar.
Zahir Dehlvi comes to Samode to settle a dispute.
This trip was thus very special and with @iramukhoty and @ursulaweekes as travelling companions even more enjoyable
