Sheikhpura Kothi in Hansi

The heritage of Hisar district is incredibly rich, going back to the Harappan. It has some unexpected little gems too, such as this grand house, called Sheikhpura kothi. Built for a local magnate, Chajju Ram, it is based on a design for a house in Charleston, South Carolina, USA. The architect was F.P Dinkelberg, who is best known for being one of the architects who designed the Flaitron building in Manhattan, New York.

Sheikhpura Kothi is a heritage hotel managed by Welcome Heritage and has 7 rooms.

Since it’s 3 hours drive from Delhi it’s an ideal getaway even for those who just want a family holiday.

If you are interested in heritage then Hansi and Hissar has plenty of those to offer too
