Sunheri Kothi in Tonk

Nawab Mohammed Ibrahim Ali Khan (1867-1930), the Nawab of Tonk, built a sunehri Kothi for poetry recitals, dance and music in Tonk.
It’s a small double storeyed building with arched openings and the ground floor has painted columns.
But once we climb up we are in for a treat of a sumptuous hall with enamel mirror-work, gilt and painted glass illuminated through stained-glass windows from Belgium.
The effect is unbelievable. It’s like being in a jewel box
Under renovation by ASI and pretty well preserved.
