The Mahabharata and Ramayana shields in Jaipur’s Albert Hall Museum

The Ramayana and Mahabharat silver plated copper shield in Albert Hall Museum, Jaipur.

The scenes are based on the illustrations of Persian translations of Ramayana and Mahabharat done on Akbar’s orders. Both the original translations are locked up in the Kapad Dwara collection in Jaipur City Palace museum, due to a family dispute over property.
