The tree of life on the ceiling of the Jami Masjid Champaner

My 84 year old guide Prof Ghanshyam Jishi in Champaner told me that if I stood under this kalpavraksha in the ceiling of the Jami Masjid Champaner I would feel at peace & my wishes granted. I don’t know what I prayed for but I fell in love with it.

My joy can be seen.

This is the finest fusion of Indo Islamic architecture.

Apparently only the Rankapur Jason temple has a similar carving in marble.

So many Jsin elements here obviously denoting Jsin artisans, workers, masons wjo were given a free hand to express themselves by Mahmood Begarha ( conqueror of two garhs)
