This edict establishes the identity of Jahangir ‘s mother as Maryam uz Zamani

EDICTS FROM THE MUGHAL HAREM
By
S. A. I. TIRMIZI, Director of National Archives, published in 1979, showcases an edict by Marriyam uz Makani wherein she is clearly identified as mother of Jahangir. This dispel the notion that Jahangir ”s mother was a concubine.

this “hukm of Maryam Zamani, mother of Jahangir, is important as it is the only contemporary document which so clearly identifies Wall Nimat Begam with Maryam Zamani and unequivocally calls her the mother of Jahangir.

She was the eldest daughter of Raja Bharmal of Amber who espoused her in honourable wedlock with Akbar at Sambhar near Ajnner in 969 A.H./ 1 562 A.D..
This goes a long way to disprove the theory recently propounded that the mother of Jahangir was a concubine.”
And yes no wife of Akbar was called Jodha Bai.
A few years ago I was lucky to buy this now out of print book on Amazon.
