Dakhil Darwaza, Gaur, West Bengal

Dakhil Darwaza orcentrance gate, also known as Salami Darwaza is the largest structure of its kind in the medieval Sultanate of Bengal. It was the main entrance to the citadel of Lakhnauti the old mame for the city of Gaur.

And the Dakhil Darwaza from my recent visit. Difficult to make out in the painting because of the foliage.

It seems probable that it was built by Alauddin Hussain Shah who also built the nearby Bara Sona Mosque
