The Imam at Khair ul Manazil mosque in Delhi

Janab Bashir Ahmed Nizami has been leading prayers for 70 years in the Khairul Manazil mosque.

Says now he’s so weak that he falls down and at times forgets.

Does not have any govt support. The ASI hasn’t allowed him to electrify the mosque and he has to rely on oil lamps, which need Rs200/day. He doesn’t have the resources and is dependent on donations.

Said people from Afghanistan and Iran are very generous but he’s now past age of struggling.

He lives in the premises.
