The Mughal Barapapullah Bridge

This bridge was built by Khwajasara Meherbaan Agha over a stream of the Yamuna in 1602.It was used by the Mughals who came from Agra to cross Yamuna and reach Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah and Humayun’s Tomb.Today another bridge of the same name has been built and this is used as a vegetable market. It’s dirty and neglected. It has12 piers and 11 arches. But today the piers are hidden under rubbish and have to be searched for.

I couldn’t find the twelfth pillar, which I finally traced in someone’s house
