Tomb of Shamsuddin Atgha Khan, Delhi

At the badly encroached tomb of Shamsuddin Atgha Khan. Akbar’s foster brother and senior minister.

It was built next to Dargah of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya and is surrounded by houses on all sides. Approach is through residences too.

Note the swastika on the walls.

Indo Islamic architecture at its best

The residence at the entrance

This must have been a Mehfil Khana for visitors to the tomb

Just some remnants of what must have been beautiful tile work on the outer walls

Decorations on the outside walls

The swastika made by the Indian artisans

Reciting the fatiha for his soul
