The dargah of Sheikh Jalal Bukhari is a very popular dargah near the western wall of the Taj Mahal,
atop a hillock with a view of the Taj Mahal.
According to legend Sheikh Jalal Bukhari was the brother of Sheikh Ahmad Bukhari who had been invited by Emperor Shah Jahan to take care of the Rauza e Munawwara ( aka Taj Mahal).
The shrines of both brothers are on either of the mausoleum and safeguard it.
However, Moinuddin in his book The Taj and Its Envi- ronments ( reissued in 1924) describes Sayyid Jalal al-Din Muhammad (1595-1647) , the son of Sayyid Muhammad who was a was a close companion of Shah Jahan, as well as a Sufi scholar and writes that Sayyid Jalal, called Bukhari, is buried at Agra, a short distance to the west of the Taj.
Whether Sayyid Jalal is from Gujarat or Bukhara his barakah is keenly experienced by the locals who flock there in large numbers
