Deep in the forests of the Vindhya mountains of Chitrakoot is the Amravati Ashram
The Amravati Ashram is one of the places where Lord Rama is said to have visited during his vanvas
There is a natural mountain spring around which the ashram was built.
This way they reached,
The Chitrakoot hill touched,
The beauty of it watched,
And at its base they rested.
It was a Mini-Heaven,
A calm-beautiful region,
A panorama of bushy green,
A sage-sought-paradise-gain.
A forest with edible roots,
And plenty of juicy fruits,
It did attract the three of them,
And gave them all pleasant time.
We visited it during a trip to Bundelkhand with @sanarkadaheritage trips. Lunch was arranged for us there
“In their forest bound journey
They were at the height of joy,
Resting somewhere at night fall,
Moving again before its fall.
They ate fruits and nuts,
Rested in caves and huts,
Took bath in holy rivers,
And did their daily prayers.”
