Mirza Izzad Baksh Bahadur popularly known as Nili Sahib , was the son of Shah Alam II, (1762-1825). He had six son’s and three daughters.
The two sons painted here are Mirza Kamran and Mirza Humayun, shown with their toys, in a palace interior.
The palace interior depicted here is very similar to the Imtiyaz Mahal and Mumtaz Mahal antechambers, however he didn’t live in the main mahal and had his mansion as did most of the princes elsewhere.
His mansion was later used as a prison for Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar after he was captured by Major Hodson after fall of Delhi
(Painted by the family workshop of Ghulam Ali Khan, Delhi c1810. And is in Grosvenor Gallery)
