This area was part of Asaf Khan ‘s property. He was Mumtaz Mahal ‘s father. His wife was known as Diwanjee Begum and she built this Mosque.
The Mosque is frequented by inlay workers so obviously they’ve mDe the mimbar with inlay!
“They lived behind the masjid and the area is named after him. There are two dargah inside the masjid, of their attendants (khidmatgars) who have supernstural power and would use the water from the wazu khana to cure ailments” Sarthak tells me
