As the saying in our family goes, the women of the house conspired to ensure that the children are their veggies.
As with everything else the best way is to slip it in quietly and that too in disguise.
So various curries which had vegetables were invented.
A particular favourite of mine is Bhindi ka Salan.
Method:
Make a paste of ginger garlic( 1 tbsp) 1 onion.
1/2 tsp jaldi
1 tsp dhania powder
Salt & chilli to taste
Garamond masala 1/4 tsp
Oil as per health consciousness
250 GM mutton
250 GM okra. Head and bottom stalk chopped off. Lightly sauté in oil and keep aside.
Fry one onion finely chopped – golden brown in oil.
Add all masalas and roast till done.
Add the mutton and 1 cup of water.
Pressure cook
When steam eccapes open and add the bhindi.
Cook it on slow fire, open for few minutes.
Sprinkle Garam masala on top andI personally like it a little Khatta so add a hint of lemon juice
Enjoy
