Ingredients :
Mutton 1/2 kg
2 large onions sliced
1/2 tsp each diced garlic and ginger
Whole red Chilli to taste ( 2 at least & more if you like it spicy)
1/2 tsp peppercorns
Few cloves
1 badi elaichi ( deseeded)
2-3 green cardamom
3-4 bay leaves
1/2 tsp zeera
Oil – 1/2 cup (this uses extra oil as onions are fried. You can drain later)
1/4 cup beaten dahi. Mix with mutton pieces
1/4 beaten dahi
Method:
Heat oil put in the whole garam masala, red Chilli then ginger garlic and finally onion. Let the onion slices become golden brown.
Add the mutton pieces, saute on high flame. Add salt & remaining dahistir and pressure cook.
Enjoy.
Note: this is not Mutton Do piyaza. Do piyaza means just that
double the amount of onions
1:2 is proportion of mutton to onions. It’s very time consuming but delicious.
The proportions of every ingredient changes.
