A perennial favorite in our house
1/2 kg mutton
1/2 kg tomatoes diced finely
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
2 onions: I diced finely for frying & other ground to a paste
1 tbsp haldi
1 tbsp dhania powder
2 tbsp oil
A 1/2 inch piece of jaggery
Salt & chilli to taste
Add all the ground and powdered masalas and saute well.
Optional 1/2 tbsp garam masala powder
Add the meat and stir fry on high heat for few minutes.
Add the tomatoes and stir so that it mixes well.
Pressure cook it for 10 minutes.
When steam escapes, open and add the garam masala and jaggery.
Cook till the water dries up
Garnish with green coriander
Tastes very good with rotis or Parathas
